Re: Clio 16v motor anyone?
It would be easier to fit than Jag V12, but not as 'easy' as PRV, steering components and front crossmember are perhaps something that can't be used from 360, but I haven't really checked that so well, it would make funny track day car for sure, impossible to get MOT for such, also if I would do such, then I would use Chevy small block as it would be cheaper to tune.
90 degree V8 seem to squeeze just by just into engine bay what comes to width and length.

Re: Clio 16v motor anyone?
hello mate!, could you pm me with more details about the engine specs please? very interested, could you find out if its got any immobiliser on the car and if it had power steering too?.
if im correct its not a big problem if the engine has a power steering pump?, should just be connected to the alternator belt area and remove as required?, and refit a smaller alternator belt or just adjust tension if possible?.
if you could get the first 3 digits of the engine number that would be brill too, should go F7P D704 or 722, etc etc, I know on my previous engine it was F7P D704 which was the renault 19s if im correct?
oh and if anyone know any other issues with fitting these clio engines compared to the 19s that would be brill !!, im sure there is something different bout the clio F7P engines and the 19 F7P engines
cheers

Re: Clio 16v motor anyone?
You still having problems with Lees old car mate? There is no real difference between the engines though. As for imobiliser if you are running that loom from lees car it bypasses the imobiliser.

Just seen this thread again mate. Will PM the lad now for you.
*edit. here's a copy of the PM I sent dude.
Hello mate I have a lad interested in your valvers engine to go in his Volvo 340. Here's a couple of questions he's asking -
Does it run power steering and any immobiliser on it at all? Also could you provide the first 3 digits of the engine number please.
Also if you still have it a phone number would be handy so I can pass it on lol
Cheers mate, Liam.
Forgot to ask about the spec but if it's still there then hopefully you will be able to find out what you need.

Re: Clio 16v motor anyone?
They all seem to be 27 inch tall, when fitted so that stock hood will close, oil pan would be where bottom of rim is, that is less than 4 inches, that would leave perhaps 1 inch of clearance when suspension is at lowest position. Also firewall would be needed to move rearwards or hood need to have large bulk at front of it,which with some proper wider arches would not be a bad thingxtrmjks wrote:Mustang V8 would fit, bring to Me and I'l do it!

But, there still is no room for brake servo or steering column...
Sure all problems are possible to solve, but I wonder if it is worth all trouble, engine weights over 500 pounds alone and it does not help that weight would be higher than with redblock.
3.5 litre Nissan twin turbo V6 is perhaps still one of the best choices, VQ35HR to be specific

With such, sound of crunching metal will become rather familiar, I suppose.
