Just a random quick post (with some food for thought) Basically I was on google and I typed in Volvo 363 by mistake but I actually found some interesting info....I wont paste a link here as I know it can be a bit sticky with websites and permissions to paste hotlinks
In the search I found a few websites with info...
I think the 363 CS was a motorsport special edition-(turbo bricks have some info on as do the volvo club)
It apparantly had a B27 motor producing around 140 hp.Intersting stuff eh?
Anybody have any additional info on this little beast?

It is pretty well known in here, I tried to link search here, but it is not possible I see.
However if you put 363cs into search box here, you will find some threads with pics and lot of additional information from that car, really rare thing such is

Strongly, yes. How easily will a PRV fit an M47 bolt pattern? You could get a turbo setup easily enough for those too, aftermarket Renault Alpine GTA stuff.

What you plan to leave out to make room for turbo?
Nah, V6 has two cylinders too little, but then again V8 won't fit without massive modifying, so I guess that boring 4 banger is still best solution for cheap go, for show, well they have fit Merlin motor into car before, that would make nice almost bolt on for 300, yes?

Driver just needs new location, in a boot that is
BTW, I believe V6 from Safrane should be quite easy fit (some had 180ish hp?), mounts are different, but I think swap from PRV solves that, maybe some other parts too is needed, I remember reading from such swap in the making quite some time ago, we need Fuse to rescue again, he should have all data from that too as he has from probably every engine swap that has been done or planned to be done for 340/360
Was it always getrag box in 264/265?

If you are serious about the B28, talk to John Griffiths in the VOC. One of the parts dudes in the Soton dealers built one a long time ago, and John works there. The interesting bits wouldn't be the engine tbh, but nothing looks impossible to copy.

hehehe some great ideas!

i heard a bout a guy who put a jag v12 in a 340 or 360-not sure-saw it a while ago on the net.
the renault v6 or prv v6 etc would be awesome although the v6s would probably be heavier than the redblock 4 bangers. Its important to bear in mind as handling could be altered dramatically-the 4 banger maintains pretty nice weight distribution.
A v8 would certainly suite the 340/360s looks-its quite muscular looking-trouble tho is fitting the thing width wise i guess-because the bonnet is quite big-but again its long just not so wide because of the wings etc-u know what im trying to say.And again the weight.
anything is possible with with some persistance-ive seen escorts with v8s and theyre similar size to the 300 series.
some great stuff thoi guys-i wana hear more its awesome-really we should have this in the tuning post haha!

Problem with V8 is height, length and width are manageable, but height is quite bit of problem, it would require enormous hood scoop and it would mean weight sitting quite high, tranny and drivetrain would be in silly angle, best bet would be tubular frame to front section of car, maybe only way to fit it and still hood need to be raised several inches.
PeugeotRenaultVolvo V6 was base what Renault has developed further, I believe it is full alloy at least in it's latest form? Was original PRV alloy block too? Can't remember anymore, but I think that latest versions are not much heavier than redblock.
Nissan V6 of course would be nice choice 3.5 litre 300hp (VQ35 or what them was called?) or something like that and weights almost nothing
Original 363CS had trouble with cooling if I recall correctly.
