Maybe some people have seen some pictures of my car in a topic about a bodykit. But I think it’s now time to introduce myself proper.
My name is Mark, I live in The Netherlands, to be precise in Born, yes yes, the town where the Volvo 300 was produced!

But enough about me, the cars:
The First 360:
The first one came in 1995. Dad bought it very cheap (850 GLD = 380 Euro) from a fellow. The clutch was broken, and his fellow was too lazy to repair it. It’s a grey 360 GLE, with an original Volvo sunroof, electric windows, Central locking, GLE alloys and wipers on the headlights.

After 1 year the Volvo proofed his benefit. We were involved in a heavy accident. A brand new Ford escord (1996) brushed alongside the driversdoor. Result: The ford was total loss (the right front wheel sat sideways underneath it, even his frontwindow was smashed!), but the 360 was allowed to drive home by the police. Imagine this happened with the Opel B kadette, with we had before the 360.. And that with 3 little children in the back! So the bar in the door is now blessed

So the car was heavy damaged. But after all dad was (is) an mechanic, so he could repair it all by himself. After one year of hard labor, the car was finished.

In the main while dad stripped a 360GLE showcar (MK2), whith had been to the US carshows. The wife of another fellow had an accident, and the doors on the driver side were damaged. The GLT alloys are now used for the summer tires, and the originale GLE alloys are used for the winter tires. Furthermore a lot of stuff is now in our ‘stock’: 2-liter engine injection, airco(!) and a lot of small stuff.
Also the rear skirt of this car was used in our own 360, because there was some rust, due to an accident by the previous owner.

Scary! You can look through the car!

Everything nice and new! The price cart is still on the plate between the backlights.

Last but not least dad bought ‘the bodykit’ new in Belgium.
And this is the result:

The second 360:
In the summer of 2007, my dad and I were at the local Volvodealer for some parts, when we meet a ex-fellow, who also has an 360GLE, a blue one. After a little chat he tells that his ‘baby’ is going to the scrap yard next year, because nobody wants his car. But dad is immediately interested, because he knows that the man still has covers over his head rest after 20 years, so they don’t get dirty!

Accidently in April, I would become 18 years!
In March he called, and on the first of April (no it’s not a joke!) the car came to us. The fellow had it very tough with this ‘lost’. Several photos were taken before dad could take the car..

The car did get his MOT, but there are some points for this year. It is a little bit rusty on the bottem, and there is something wrong with the gear stick. But all these things will be repaired in the next few months. Now the car is sleeping in the garage for a while. But hopefully this summer it is ready, sow I can take it to the VROM in Sweden
