Cant find much reference in a forum search, so sorry if this is a re-post:

Has anyone on these shores sat Pass Plus?

And did it make any real difference on the insurance cost?

Currently insured as a second driver, and will be thrown into the pit of insurance pain on next renewal.
Cheers gentlemen.

Ah, some kind of safe driving course, where they say all kind of nonsense like staying under speed limit etc and then insurance company thinks you become magically safe driver and reduces premium? :D

I doubt that Bruno's course does not really classify in their books as such

Exactly that kind of thing dude.
Though really, they should just make the test more thorough, and have reasonable insurance costs from the start really.

But that would be Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too sensible.

I hear you, there are so many insane things related to insurance these days that I feel someone should go into politics and try to put some reason to those things :D

Here is not such systems I believe, if here would, then I might teach on such course, maybe that should take premium really down

Pass plus is not worth it. It wouldve reduced the insurance on my first car (a vw polo) from £1700 (fully comp) to £1620!

the best way, is to add older members of your family to the insurance. you dont have to use their no claims etc, just have a couple of people 40 years old plus. I have my mum and my nan on the volvo and Im fully comp for £1200! which aint bad for a 19 year old with 3 points for speeding!

Yeah, as others have said - not really worth it. Lesson costs tend to outweigh insurance savings

why? If you have no older family then just add a friend who has been driving donkey years, hasnt had any accidents and hasnt made any claims! It reduced mine by £300 on gocompare.com <<<< the best insurance website out there, whereas confused.com really is confusing! haha

Don't add people over 60 though.

I played the insurance game for ages, and it just wasn't worth it for me to do Pass Plus. I did do the IAM course last year though, that helped me insure a fairly modded car before I was 25 but I've been on my own policy from day 1 so don't have much issue with insurance anymore. It actually has useful things in it too, though I'm not sure how useful it'd be straight after having your L test, but worth reading about.

IAM if you are intrested is a one off fee for lessons, books and the test, if you get a member to refer you or buy it for you or something you get it cheap, more so if you are under 25 hence why I got involved when I did.

Sounds interestin chris.
Def want to continue further training, and pass plus sounds like a bit of a bust like.
Investigations will be made once funds allow.

Cheers boys.
