Had enough of Nissan

Right, I've slung my redundancy application in. I've worked in that sh1thole for 4 years, 3 months and 18 days and I've jolly buggering well had enough. Seen Shawshank Redemption where Morgan Freeman gets outof prison and can't go to the bog without asking? That's me, institutionalised and also about half as intelligent as when I joined up. i need a new flava, a total change.

If approved, I'll get £9600 and £2000 off a car. Anyone want to buy a one-year-old note/micra/qashqai at an unbeatable price?

Now I need to retrain. I'll probably go for some engineering, and maybe driving jobs for a bit, if they take people with convictions like "driving a motor vehicle on two wheels while disqualified and on fire" (section 69, road traffic act).
Longer term ideas so far include:
Teaching English in France,
MTB instructor in Whistler, Canada,
Bodging cars for folk,
Buying a burger van and selling BSE to twunts,
Going mental and shooting the factory up before turning the gun on myself. (If I die at work my ma gets £80k).

I'm off to drink loads 'cos I'm off work tomorrer. sm4 sm59 sm91 sm83 sm81 sm50 sm75

Then straight into teaching english to wide eyed foreigners.

But dont the french already speak english?

Don't shoot yourself at work as yo ma wont get no cash! The Bar stewards won't pay out if you kill your slef :x

As to the change of direction you have to work that out own yur own - but don't go for the burger van as you'll end up to heavy for drifting

Sounds like a genius plan, though may I suggest Morzine, as then you can teach skiing during the winter without moving for more than twice the pennies per year

Good on you mate, I know you were hating Nissan and good luck with finding the next step.

All I can say is that never do decisions under influence of emotions and never stay on job which you hate as it will make you only bitter old man who has many diseases

Teaching is always good profession, that is if your patience exceeds calm behaviour of Buckinham palace guards

Well done John, for making the right decision at the right time ... Generally speaking, you're spending a third of your life sleeping, a third working and a third having fun (hopefully!). It's a right old waste of life if you hate the third spent on work.

You only live once ...

Hmm, I really doubt that work is only one third, at least for me as I spend whole week at work and then came to home where are prepare next week and so on. Sure there is sleep time and limited fun time at weeks too, but 10-12 hours work each day, fridays are shite as need to do normal day + drive to home so it is sometimes like 16 hours or more.

But it is well worth it, all those happy faces after students can reach goal and such is more than compensating all the trouble, also economic downturn is not bad thing in this business, it actually is good thing.

Also this is kind of work that is impossible to do if person don't like from it.

Previously I was in job that I honestly did hate, so I did try to manage hang in there for 4.5 years, result of that was +25kg, memory cutting sometimes and something that keeps me in slowmotion, so I really don't recommend staying in job one hates, it kills you slowly.

Same goes for Whistler, though i've heard good things about Morzine too. Could be about the best way to earn a living ever.

Thanks for the support, I've been feeling weak and having second thoughts. My 340 is in for MOT on monday, anyone want a cheap 740?

Sven speaks the truth. These guys are making a killing in my part of the world: http://www.motmax.co.uk/

Use that money wisely. Not often you get £10k dumped on your plate. Wisely does not include more rusty cars :-P

cheers
