we are (according to the book 'crap cars') owners of the 40th crappest car ever..

Before they got all sexed up in the nineties, volvo was synonymous with estate cars that were good for one thing - carrying stuff. All the 340 could carry was the shame of being the runt of the family, a wheezy hatchback that appealed largely to senile pensioners who were too well-heeled to drive a metro. High spot of the 340's glitteringly shit career was an ill-advised ad campaign that dared to suggest that it cornered 'like a porsche', purely because, like some of germany's finest sports cars, the volvo carried its gearbox at the back. but then southend is on the coast but that doesnt make it in any way 'like the south of france'. wierdly, this volvo isnt even swedish 0- it was designed and built in holland. what were they schmoking?

actually, the books well funny, and only a fiver in waterstones

It does sound quite funny - although it seems to be about the 340 only - I'm safe
