My (Todays) Epic Fail.......

Post by 340GLT » 23 May 2009 10:27 pm

On route to PPC in the park, whilst overtaking a car, almighty noise lost drive....
Havent even looked at problem, pulling grey car off the road for its Rework just happened early.
I can move gear stick up and down 2" and feels like a box of nothing although is still vaguely connected and can select gears, just dont know whats up yet. Will inform you all of problem when i look at it, in the meantime this will keep you amused...

Strangely today i went through all the other boards and came to the General section last, i normaly do it the otherway round.

So when i read your thread about the white car and you mentioned your mishap this morning i was going to ask in there what that was all about.

Proper gash that it happened on the way, rather than any other time, but as you say, early overhaul so it''ll all come good in the end.

Know what it is yet? Hope it's an easy enough fix, not that it matters for a man of your calibre

Oh and did you get to PPC or head home instead?

Gearstick moving up and down?

That sounds like failure of gearstick bottom mount that is above torque tube, very small weldings hold small metal pieces together and those are bit prone to fail in spirited driving conditions, of course could be something else added to that as you did loose drive too.

Hopefully it is not too serious, you have had bit bad luck with that car.
