Musicians?

Post by tommysb » 02 Jun 2009 08:16 am

Who here plays an instrument then? And what style of music do you generally play?

I'll get the ball rolling. I used to play guitar, still do from time to time, but no where near as seriously as I did. Played in a couple of ska-punk bands, and used to practise anything reggae or 'rocky' generally.

Low end legend.
Possibly the worlds worst bass player.
And it takes a lot of effort to be bad with only four strings to be bad on.

Andy Rourked it up in a Smiths tribute band (the Smifths) years ago and stood in for Matt Freeman when he missed Rancid Gigs with ball cancer.

One of the two claims above is a true fact.

Used to have a fine collection of el-cheapo guitars when I was in the UK, only thing I managed to take with me over here is my Electric Mandolin, only know a few songs on it but I can play them really well!

Looking to get another electric guitar when I've got some cash - possibly another Yamaha pacific 112v. A mate of mine left his Crafter acoustic over in Victoria with his Ex, so it's just a question of sorting the frieght out and its mine ( he's lucky she didnt break it over his head hehehe :) )

I play guitar (got 4 of the things ). Usually a bit of rock/progressive rock, but nowhere near as pratcised as I used to be - annoyingly so! Have a Cort X11 which is bloody nice, nobody's ever heard of them but they make bodies for Ibanez.

An old pic!

Used to play a bit of sax, clarinet and piano, not seriously played for a while though. Latin, bigband, ska and Thin Lizzy/Dire Straits covers are the order of the day when I do play, and sometimes some gratuitous Pink Floyd mid term sax induced stuff when we have enough people around to get properly involved.

We should totally have a band camp this summer.
I saw one on a DVD and it was almost amusing.

My housemate is teaching himself the banjo. It's been quite painful!
