Is it just me...

...or are are 300's rapidly 'kicking the bucket'?
I bought my first 360GLT back in '01. Seems like yesterday, but in reality it's some time ago now. Compared with, say even 18 months ago, there are far fewer cars coming up for sale now. There's only ever 1 or 2 360's on eBay at a time, and normally the same with the 340's.
So, what's the crack?
Is it just that they're all now nearly 20 years old (about the shelf life for a car)... is it that recession means people want cheap and reliable motoring and are holding on to them... or is it that you lot are hogging them all?
When I first came on here a couple of years ago, there were people falling over themselves to sell me their spare/daily car. Now, much harder.
Maybe this is just the natural progression? You can bet your bollocks to a barndance that once the supply goes down just a bit more, the prices'll come back up again.
Thoughts?
(oh and help - nice GLT?!

)

Theres a few being taken up by drifters, stripped out, hammered, and discarded.
But theres a lot just rotting away/dying in service too.
To the average, non mechanicly aware car owner, any mojor fault/work usually costs in exess of the car value to repair.
To people bin them and buy a slightly less ill one.
Thats not just the case for 300s though. Its a malady affecting all retro cars yet to gain a classic following.
The problem is really that theres too many cars on the road.
Theres to much choice, and theyre all too disposable.
my 2p there.

IMO 300s are really quite rare. I mean I've only ever seen I think 5 different ones in my whole life that I can remember. And that doesn't include mine. That and the recession and the car scrap scheme could see these motors becoming dead. If all else fails, we could all become 200 fans

I'm not sure on the reason, but even in 2 1/2yrs of me looking to buy, then getting my car, the numbers have dropped. I remember in that short time there was always atleast 1 GLT on Autotrader every week.
However on a happier note, i did get my 1st wave from an oncoming fellow 340 driver in my local town.
It slightly confused me why a 40 something yr old in a suit and 80's style office glasses would be waving at me until a twigged the car

A silver Redline i think.
Does anyone know who owns that black 3dr GLT that was always in magazines , think he was a drifter and it had Megasquirt, or a turbo? Pretty sure it's now living near me looking sorry for itself.
This is near me aswell, slowly being consumed by a bush on the drivers side.

Spot on... what plonker will ever put in the stupid hours needed to repair a rear jacking point on a 300 properly... oh, yeah, c*ck
Theres so many nice ones been scrapped, it's quite quite silly
