Re: V3M Wiki
Am i the only one having trouble finding the articles? Is there a main page somewhere or is it still yet to be made so we can upload articles/pages and then add the link to the main page? We might all be uploading the same stuff at the moment

It's just you Thomas, click on "recent changes" and you'll see what has been going on - not much
The main stumbling block at the minute is photos. Can't upload them as this hasn't been enabled. You can link to photos hosted elsewhere, but that's no good as it won't embed them.
I'll bang up a sketch index later, then you'll be able to work from there.

Ah i see! Derrrrrrrrrrrrr! haha, does linking to photobucket images not work then either? Im going to have a butchers at the front page as i dont have much technical info to submit just yet. I think there should be a section on the front page called "technical" and everytime someone puts up a 'how to' then the link should be put in the section on the main page for easier browsing

Re: V3M Wiki
I've just done a link to the index page on the main page.
I've indexed what we have so far under a handful of headings. See if you can find your way around now!

You don't have to, but it'd be nice if you registered, then we can see who's who rather than just IP address.

Signed up I'd like to think i could fit that FAQ guide thing i wrote into it somewhere, but i cant figure out how to do it. I mean i just copied some text from the guide, changed it a bit and put it on the front page. I now see some ones put "introduction" above it, its the little things like that i miss out.

Good work.
There's a FAQ page now. Edit away.

Re: V3M Wiki
I made a few minor edits to make the links a bit nicer and not have the underscores present for spaces. I'm not going to be much help content-wise though

Thanks williswoody. Even if you can't help much content-wise, your help is very much appreciated with appearance or typos or anything else.
Once the photo issue is sorted (and possibly someone getting some admin rights to keeping the wiki house in order. It will start looking better. Miles better.

Re: V3M Wiki
No problemo, happy to help in any minor way I can also, this isn't really a big deal, but just to make the URL more user-friendly, do you reckon there's a way to get rid of the /index.php/ in the middle of it? I remember when I used MediaWiki a few years ago I managed to, but can't remember how...
EDIT: Found it
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Sh ... rite_rules
Also, with the photos, maybe you have to CHMOD the directory that the images are uploaded to to 777? Would this be the issue? You can do it with this thing:
http://www.net2ftp.com/
Just login with your FTP details, and you should be able to CHMOD the directory with it.

Re: V3M Wiki
Pretty sure phpBB also allows you to create a forum and then make it link it to another website. Or maybe that's SMF...

All interesting points raised. Keep 'em coming.
