Hello everyone

Just thought id introduce myself, i've been reading the forum for a while, whilst debating about getting a 340, and i finally bought F77 OAP (spotted by volvosneverdie) off ebay. Had it trailered up to west yorkshire this weekend and spent all weekend cleaning it, took the badges off the boot, removed the chunky rubbing strips and the badges off the side. Need to sort a few things for the MOT, front brake hose's, bulb in the rear light, windscreen washer jets seem to be blocked and the rear silencer is on the way out.
General plan is to get it running use it as my daily driver, then lower it, fit some alloys and generally have a bit of fun!

Anyways, i'll post some pictures, when i figure it out.......

Nice forum by the way.

Welcome to the forum dude.
We needed to add a few to the Northern contingent.

Liked the look of that car too. Youll never find a more hillarios reg man.
I think with the OAP on show in the reg, youve now got a moral obligation to put 16valver in it, slam it to the floor and make it the least OAP-mobile ever. 8)

I feel it would only be right to slam it, strip it and do an engine swap. Watching an engine on ebay at the mo......
Just got some satin black, to spray the boot lid and bonnet with, got one small bit of rust to deal with on the boot.
I expect I'll be posting a few queries about suspension and wheels soon.

Why strip it?

Going to get it running as my daily driver first, but i quite fancy the idea of stripping the interior and fitting a pair of bucket seats eventually.
Got the bonnet sanded and primered tonight, satin black going on tomorrow night.

Wouldn't bother stripping it, bucket seats I can see you're point for support under cornering. But I'd not bother stripping it considering the noise, and it generally not being a nice place to be! Go for more power instead...

I'd keep the "old man" look but just add bucket seats, banded steels and a mahoosive engine. You'll rinse people, have a nice car and get a few laughs along the way :D

Few more pics of the bonnet finished in satin black and the front end stripped to remove the headlight wipers and clean the bumper properly. The metal bar than runs behind the bumper is going to get a clean and a good dose of hammerite.
Removed the chrome strip on the bumper. Going to start on the back bumper soon.
