Operation runaround

Post by stew » 11 Aug 2009 07:40 pm

So here we are "Operation runaround"

I bought this little beauty from J340 December last year while I had my 200SX off the road due to killing the piston rings. I told myself it was "just a runaround" & promised I wouldn't spend any money on it other than servicing bits & bobs (famous last words)

A fortnight later I snapped up a set of 15's with brand new tyres off Ebay for the bargainous price of £50 but were a touch tatty so gave them a quick refurb

A bit of spit and polish then a quick coat of paint and were done

He then stood something like this (excuse poor quality)

And that was all for now while I saved hard getting bits and bobs for the Nissan. Eventually after I looked at my credit card statements I decided it was time to call it a day with the S13 so that went up for sale to clear some debts and super eco volvo now has pride of place on the driveway, for the time being anyways :)

So with most of my debt shifted I could crack on with some goodies, a quick PM to Dai and I could now do something about the horrendous arch gap

Then when I spied this thread title in the for sale section I knew I had to be quick "Suede Wheel and Mountney Boss" :) Ben hooked me up with super swift delivery and after turning my garage upside down to find my 24mm socket I slaped the wheel in this afternoon sm4

It's far nicer to drive with this, steering feels much sharper and I'm sure I drove home from work a little more enthusiastically than I usually do :D. Only thing I found is that due to my enormous bear sized paws I now catch the wiper stalk and indicator stalk when I corner & could do with a spacer to pull the wheel closer to me and away from my knees, which can be a pain when your 6"6 but I don't know if such a thing exists or can be made so I'll do some digging on that.

So plan for this weekend is to get it lowered and fit new discs and pads while I have everything off. Then It's down to my pals to work on.....

He tried to "tidy" the wiring and he's killed it so need to start beeping wires with the multimeter and see what he's put back in the wrong place . New pics soon :)
