I'm one of those weirdie DAF Vario owners and I'm interested in picking up a 340 Vario for my other half. Now, I understand that as a first aquaintance this is a big favour to ask, but there's a 340 in Halesworth (Suffolk) - which I'd like to look at. Only... the auction ends in a couple of days and I'm on shift work* until then - and then my mum's getting married. And then a friend is getting married...
So, I just wondered, does anyone happen to *know* this car? And if it's a good'un. I've got quite enough adventure in my life with the two other classics I've got, so a third one that's going to absorb hours and money isn't quite what I'm after. Essentially I'm after a reliable nice volvo vario (my other half only drives auto) which'll do some commuting for a while with regular servicing and the odd job needing doing as it crops up. The main thing, though, is that it should be good for a while before needing any other work - as my 44 is currently residing at a specialist garage after I failed to get it to run right, and then my local garage made it worse, and then I couldn't make it better...
Or, if any really generous soul out there happens to live near by and could pop round and poke at it, and see if it's okay (and changing up appropriately and all that m'larkey) then I would be endlessly grateful.
