imo there's nothing wrong with the Renix, i like it 10.000x better than traditional points.

the saloon is Frits's daily:

other one is Erik's 343DL with 1.7T fitted

Well up to '82 or whenever the Renix came in, you could fit Pertronix Ignitor instead of points. Going Renix is one step further as it also puts the advance parts of the dizzy in a black box.

Too much work in this weather for me. Hats off to Anjo for just getting on with it. sm4

Are those new reproduction mirrors? I've seen some the same on that dark grey 343 on the Dutch Volvo 300 club forum. They look just the same, very similar to the original '76 mirrors. If so where can I buy some :D. Nice spoiler 8)

Hi Anjo.
That 343 looks fantastic. I would love to get my hands on a set of those wing mirrors.
Cheers Mark. sm4

When I bought my DAF 44, it had a 343 black plastic mirror on the driver's side and a DAF Spitfire / GECO chrome mirror on the passenger side.
Image
Image

So I bought a new pair. Not exactly the same mirrors, but they fit on the exactly the same hole spacing (103.6mm - which is the same as the 343)
Image
Image

They were bought as a pair and the driver's side is flat glass and passenger side is convex. €68 and €9.90 post from this French eBay vendor - auto6t - HERE ;)

Here are the CIPA references for the FLAT and CONVEX, in case you prefer a matching pair. They are not handed.

cheers lads :)

last weekend we had a braking course with V3C, i got some pics from that (not the best resolution but it's all i have :( ) wish i'd have snapped a few aswell

Image

on the way home the exhaust suddenly desided to give up
Image

with the CVT and me doing 130kmh it was LOUDD, i still had about 50km of motorway left to get home so i slowed down to 80kmh wich made the noise a little bit less loud and made it back home.

ghettofixed it at work;
Image

and welded it after that, she's quiet now, much better:wink:

Hell Driver wrote: whats a Delrin bracket?
Delrin is the Dupont name for POM (Polyoxymethylene) It is manufactured by many chemical companies like BASF (as Ultraform), DuPont (as Delrin), Ticona Hostaform (as Celcon), Polyplastic (as Duracon) and Mitsubishi (as Lupital).
It is a low friction polymere. It a bit like Nylon, but has better stiffness and wear resistance.

The whole facade (it will have only one expansion joint!) of this museum which I helped develop will be gliding on POM bushes. This is to accommodate the thermal expansion of the facade (several inches). I had to research this material to see if it was fit to withstand the weight and the wear of the moving facade. It is a great material. (ofcourse it is... why would Anjo use anything less than great? )
