Well there was a reason if I asked that...

For me a 360 GLE, it's 4 doors..... And only with a B200E... It's the case in Belgium, the Netherlands, France... It's again an exception in the UK!!! :P

So I was not 100% sure you was talking about that car in your signature...

It will take a while before I will accept that a 360 GLE can have 5 doors + the B200K engine! sm54

This is really sacrilegious, "360 GLE" on a hatchback... sm61

So is your car! The 360 GLi never existed here! You could get a GLE or GLEi, and all GLTs were injection, but the GL was always carb.

btw james, looks like you need to raise your catchplate a bit - the lines dont match where they are on the bodywork

by foggyjames
I'm afraid the catchplate is adjusted as perfectly as can be (if you've ever done it, you'll know if you get it wrong it either rattles like a slag or won't close at all)....its rather more fundamental than that...

That misalignment is the result of an inaccurate stripe replacement after a respray. That car has had a lot of paintwork done over the years - and much of it is less than 100%. The worst bit is the top of the drivers side wing where the colour coat is breaking up!

Nice alloys! Were they a straight swop from a 400? (No spacers or whatever..)

by foggyjames
Yup, no spacers. I'm 95% certain the offset is correct, but that is a slight doubt in my mind. Those pics were just for vanity - the car has never moved with those wheels on, so I don't know if they're right. I only have two tyres for them, and I'm waiting for my steels' tyres to wear right down before shelling out for new ones.

However, there are loads of 300s running around with other 400 series alloys (the first 400 5-spokes were actually offered as a dealer option on the 300!), so I'm not expecting any problems. However, copy me and...er...I'll pinch yer Renix unit :P There are a huge range of original series alloys to chose from (heading towards 20 sets), so I'd quite like these to stay unique for as long as possible...

so your gls origionally had steel wheels on? not alloys?

Posted: 01 Jun 2004 10:30 am
by foggyjames
Yeah, only injection cars and special editions had alloys here. And its a GLE :-P

Off to do that ruddy exam now...later..
