Just joined the forum after looking through back issues of PPC mag and seeing a couple of Volvos with renault engines, ive now talked the wife in to letting me invest some of my hard earned beer chips on a new project (so im on the look out for a 3 door). anyone on here from the carlisle area?

Theres at least two from Carlisle knock about here, and a few more from general cumbria.
Good luck on the 3 door hunt.
You really want a 1.7 if youre planning a 16valve renault upgrade.
1.4 will mean sourcing a lot of 1.7 parts anyway.

Hello, it could be my car your seeing about Carlisle, I did have a light blue 343 with a turbo engine till it set on fire, I've now got a dog rough red 340 with a black bonnet, since I put it threw the railings on hardwick circus. The other car you've maybe seen will be joes also red 340 it a total shed! Sorry joe. It's been on it's side in a ditch crashed in the other side and has part of a bus stop for a rear window, smart! I work weekends at Douglas's so just say hello if you get a car and your up, patrick.
