Helllo all. I was posting on here as OapEM previously, however when I have tried to sign into this account now I can't. Also I no longer have the email address linked to the profile lol.
So it's easier to make a new account with a not so gay username. This one is the same as the number plate on my other car. I haven't been bothering with the net much at all of late, and have had even less inclination to visit car forums. I'm still not full 'in the zone' with cars, bit sick atm but thought I would show my face again (for the few that remember me lol)
Here's some up to date pics of the car I quickly snapped tonight as it looks a bit different to my last postings on here. It's getting a bit closer to how I want now. Slowly and surely. Still needs many things and a wash though. lol
As always, there's more in the pipeline too.

So, what have I missed?
Liam.

Looks good with the louvre!

Nice wheels too, these cars look so much better when lowered and with the right wheels!

Cheers dude! (Are you the guy with the mk1 bought from eBay?)
Aye, gotta love that 80's tat lol. I have larger profle tyres on the rear atm and they make the wheels look less dished, and more like a 6J than a 7.
Coupled with the fact I done a half arsed refurb job and the 'shiny' lips aren't exactly that anymore and she could look better.
I agree though, nowt changes a car like a set of boots! Been making up some -3" front struts. That should help a bit too I hope.

Holy shit it's Ben! lol Alright mate.
I guess you're still here then! You still got your red mk3 dude? I know there's a stealth GLT waiting in the wings for you like. Don't tell me you're collecting them now also? lol
Ha I guess you seen the louvre on eBay too then? It was pure fluke for me, some guy told me about it and I found it with 14 mins to go...
Two words: (Strong, weatherproof) Velcro tape. lol
Cheers for the kind words btw.

The car will appreciate them after the winter kicked it's arse!

Long story.
Involving an exploding 406.
A skoda.
A rope.
And massive financial loss.
FWD atm, but soon to be back in the game.
Wanna have a look at yours now like mate, cant believe how far its come.

Not cool mate! Maybe your god would be happier if you were on a push bike?

Gotta hate cars at times!
I had to replace the down pipe on the 360 the other week as I tore it off due to mega lowz lol. They always want for something!
Yeah man we need to meet up. I posted in the 'Calender' section about a proposed NE meet. We should sort one (if it hasn't happened already)

That right, the green one. Kept it original, even the 26 year old tyres

(will be getting some new ones on another set of wheels soon cos I don't trust them at speed). At the moment I'm working on a mark 3 that I have had off the road for a few years, just concentrating on getting it back on the road for now. The real project will be a Mk 1 I got last autumn, its all there but in a pretty bad state, lots of scope for modifications as it's very far from original condition anyway, (serious rust, replaced sills, bad paintwork etc.
Edit: I put a bid on the louvre too !!! then forgot to look in time to up it, glad it went to a good home
Edit again

Sorry misread you post, yes the Mk 1 (silver) came off e-bay too!!! The green ones a GLS just like yours!

I'm glad someone got that car in one piece. I was gonna have it but was struggling for somewhere to store it. Then I tried for just the rear cluster I needed at the time.
The projects sound fun mate. Especially the non-standard mk1. Is the rubber band box goin in the bin? That's the thing I dislike about them (and what they're loved for!) lol
Also am I the only person on here that has only one V300 either past or present?
[EDIT] The louvre auction was some of my best sniping to date lol. Rest assured I will look after it!

[Another edit from me too!] Yeah I meant the silver one! I know not of this green machine. Any pics?

think everyone in the world was on that looovreee man.
I did the cardinal sin.
and advertised instead of hoarding
had nothing to fit it to (and no idea how to mount it,) never thought of velcro.
extra pikey points for ingenuity dude.

It's a manual 4 speed, I used to have a 77 343 (vario). I bought it to replace that really, it got stolen a few years ago. I always wanted to have a go at modifying that but never got chance! I'm really not sure what to with it yet, I'm just waiting to see how I get on with the M.O.T. with the Mk 3 to see if my welding/mechanical skills are up to it with basic repair work first. If the mileage on the Mk 1 is correct it's only done 66,000 miles but it looks more like it's done 666,000

I think really I should lower it a bit, change the wheels and put a much more powerfull engine in !!! Then of course the brakes, suspension etc will need upgrading. I've got plenty of time to decide yet, so when I get started I'll start a thread, I think what ever I do the car will have to be stripped down completely to a shell and be rebuilt. It even need a new windscreen and doors

Ah it was on here then! There's no surprise. lol @ your eBay thread. You must put some hours in on there mate!
It's funny how I came across it, I was linked to the RR abandoned thread and PM'd the guy who took a pic of a 345 laid up with one on. I'm sure you seen it?
Suffice to say no dice when it came to that but the kind fella sent me another PM with the listing number for the one I have.
Lucklly I was scheduled to be in Essex to collect a Vespa with my mate so it all worked out nicely. Shame I never got to meet Martin (left louvre with neighbour) as going by your post he may have had some other trinkets/V300 craic!
MCHUDD wrote:Hi all.
I did not get the louvre.
Good luck to the bloke who did. I hope he is on here and we will se a pic.
Cheers Mark.

Done and done.
Sorry you never got it mate, I remember what those tw@ts did to yours! I remove this one.

Ah a manual!
I haven't seen many heavily modified mk1's so it would be awesome to see. I fully agree on stripping it back to the bare bones, then at least you know everything is sorted and you won't be chasing rust/problems etc. in the near future!
Aye I remember the silver one having some crazy rust. Good stuff for saving it from the crusher though.
I look forward to the future thread and I like the sound of the plans! Engine upgrading is on my list at some point also.
Griffo, thanks a lot mate. Loving the Invader stylee sticker!
