I kindof like to break the posted speed without any changing of parts... just tweaking it.

I had (indicated) 106mph out of my 5 speed 1.4 manual.
I pretty much bottled out at that, but with a long enough private road, it felt to me like there was more there.

no idea what volvo said the3 top speed was?
My personal record for beating the posted max was 133 indicated in a hyundai lantra 1.6GLSi on the straight and flat - (the old one with 7K redline

) the posted top speed is 116 - the exhaust manifold was completely fükenbroken afterwards.

Top speed is certainly enough.
Speed limit is 65 and there is no need to go much faster than 80 at public roads, on track there is not enough long straights to get to top speed.
I don't know about acceleration, that might lack a bit, 0-60 might be something around 15 seconds?
Replacing engine is maybe only way to have any meaningful improvement.

i topped my 340 cvt at 109 mph; that was on GPS. engine was doing 6400rpm; all stock parts, just good maintenance to engine and cvt and good adjustments to everything.
so far i've had my 340 turbo at 130mph on GPS, i expect the valver guys to be able for a slightly higher topspeed since those engines like doing more rpm
0-60 in about 7,5 seconds so far; that includes shifting to 3rd at around 50mph..
above 100mph you definatly notice the brick shape on the v300 though
