Cleaned rusty. Pics inside.

Post by L14MNP » 06 Jun 2010 02:47 pm

For the first time ever I Autosol'd the Volvo's chrome/polished bits and was surprised how well it came up. I didn't polish it but I think it was lucky enough to get dried by a means other than a blast down the bypass.

What a difference. :) I should do that more often.

I was pretty happy with it so had a short run out with my mate and we took some pics with his DSLR and new lens. They're only full auto and point and click as we intended to go elswhere for further pictorial mincing but I got sidetracked.

Have some fagging about:

and me wireless lol.

One of the main reasons for the pics and hosting them here is that I'm not entirely finished with the grille, but I wanted to 'de-Volvo 300' it a bit as IMO they are a bit awkward looking on the front end. I'm also looking into single round headlamps for the front too, but we'll see. It's good to get othes opinions and be able to view it differently myself also.

Styling the car this way helps slightly subdue my everburning old skool JDM lust too.

The front end will look right when I add an oil cooler and better electric fan IMO (this was just a test run). Also gonna start looking for an Ashley or similar exhaust to chop about for her.

Comments and criticism welcome.
Cheers, Liam.

Cheers all. Much appreciated. 340pw

2Fast4u the bumpers were only on the mk2 GLS i think mate. Look for one breaking maybe if you're after some?

Nice to see some more chrome love. I heart it. maybe if the car was a brighter colour it would look better but we can't have it all. lol

My mates keep telling me to paint the chrome black. Fools.

I've never seen chrome bumpers on a 340 or 360 before.

What you do to the car, sm32 don't paint that chrome please, let me know and I'll send you a pair of others in exchange!
I just love them sm40

lol you can have first dibs if I ever loose my head dude. 340pw

Maybe some others had the chrome tops too? I know the mk2 GL never though as I had some parts off one in a breakers.

The only problem with chrome bumpers is it makes me wish I had used finer wet and dry when I reconditioned my wheels as it shows up my less than mirror finish.
