And what about this solution: the gauge mounted horizontally, the 2 spaces for the switches are totally unecessary! (or for fake switches maybe

Here is the picture I was looking for... The 3 gauges and the GT steering wheel!

That's not the standard wheel - he must have removed the padded button! Without the big button, I agree its very nice....however there is a list as long as my arm of things I have to change before the steering wheel (one of the best looking bits of the car IMHO)!
I didn't realise anyone had actually put the gauge there when you suggested it Aymat. I think you'd have to cut the 'cubby hole' beneath the panel too, although at least we know its possible now!!
cheers

I'm not convinced with the horizontal gauge, having fitted the turbo and volt meter gauges yesturday with the vacuum pipe connected to the turbo gauge, i find it quite clear to see thats its not as easy to monitor as the econometer on the dash display! I think the aux panel is best suited for those gauges you want to look at every now and then to check everythings in order, not for a pretty much consantly monitored gauge!
Cheers

Guess why I only put the oil ones down there
I think the idea line-up is volts and oil pressure 'down below', then oil temp and boost in A-pillar pods (can't thrash til the oil is warm

).
I'm probably going to fit the uncalibrated 740 gauge in place of the econ gauge in the main cluster, then have a handy blanked off vac line (in the glove box?) for precise monitoring with a calibrated gauge when making adjustments to the boost pressure!
cheers

A boost gauge would be fun though - "That's right, only 10psi needed to WASTE that saxo"
cheers
