I know of a man that may be able to help you with the dutch speaking thing and if treated right, he could be a very good friend and source of spares for the early 343/daf 77. His wife is Dutch and he regularly visits to collect spares from the Daf Museum. His name is George Baily and he runs the "Daf Preservation Society" which is based in Stoke on Trent.

If you do get in touch, invite him in from the cold, as he is such a knowledgable man, who can sometimes seem obrupt, but he means no offence, this is just his way and he is extremely helpfull and friendly once you get to know him.

Ian.

I always say, "don't be put off by what you've heard" especially in the classic car scene. I know from experience that if you do a good job and put all of your energys into helping people keep their cars on the road, that there will always be somebody out there who is jelous regarding what you are trying to do and the ammount of friends that you are making. It happend to me and the previous Chairman of a club that we tried to move forward, and I dare say it will happen again to others. All I have ever wanted to do is help people and even though I have had a few bad experiences, it won't put me off trying to do my best in the future, as inside I know the truth.

I say meet somebody first before you judge them, because for every horror story that is told, there are useally more good ones.

Sorry for the rant and please accept that this is not a personal reply to what has been posted, I am definately talking generally, but in my oppinion everybody deserves a chance and I don't think its fare to judge on hear-say allone.

Ian.
