Solex float and gaskets

Post by nomashedswede » 20 Oct 2009 10:41 am

28 - 34 CISAC floats needed.

Anyone got a replacement - either nos or sound used ? Also looking for a float chamber gasket.

Any help appreciated.

They are very cheap new, so don't bother with s/h ones.

Thanks, Chris - didn`t really think used was a good idea, any way - but what`s cheap ? Have found a source, and they want 25 + vat for the float, and 35 + vat for a carb service kit. I only really want the gasket, but they say it`s not available separately. So, thick end of 70 to change the poxy float !

Am I being had in, or are they really this much ?

I'd say you are being had bud ;) A rebuild kit should have a float in it (at least, the Volvo one did, I'm not sure about the Webcon ones), I'd expect to pay 25 on a really good day, to about 40 inc vat.
