Expansion cap needed

Post by whiskeyonesix » 04 Nov 2009 11:39 am

Hi Folks,

My 360GLT has started to lose coolant out of the expansion tank, it's not losing a great deal but I've been advised to find another cap if I can - specially with a long hot Aussie summer/Winter coming up.
Rung round all the usual places here ( 3 ) and its not an item that they stock.
Not looked at Volvo Dealer yet......

Anyone help?

Tom.

Until you get one m8, I've found tin foil and an elastic band to hold it on is really effective for the short term. Use 2 or 3 layers!

Ok, thats the worst-case scenario option! but i'll bear that in mind :)

I'll keep a close eye on the temp gauge over the next couple of days, if it's something serious (which it probably isnt) it might mean a new thermostat - for peace of mind. Unlikely to be head Gasket, head was done just before I had the car last year....
