400 series inlet manifold

Post by classicswede » 13 May 2005 08:29 pm

Wanted; Volvo 400 series inlet manifold, it needs to be the type that sweeps over the top of the engine with the throttle set in the centre.
Thanks in advance

Hi Dai,

That'd be the fuel injection manifold then? I can get you one of those no problem, but wouldn't it be cheaper / easier to pull one from a scrap car near you?

I've just read your PM on the VOC board - sorry I didn't reply sooner!

cheers

Don,t wory. All the manifolds I can find are the ones that sweep to the side of the engine. If you can get one with the throttle in the centre it would be great and then I can finish the LPG install properly, I'm still running open loop!

Thanks

Dai

Hi Dai,

Can you even get them like that?! The turbo ones are definitely off to one side, and I'm fairly sure the 2.0 and 1.7 injection ones are the same. The 1.8 is central, but IIRC the throttle is on the 'cabin' side of the engine - only the air ducting swoops over the top.

Have you converted a 1.7 to injection then? I'd definitely do that if I had a 1.7

cheers

I have seen a couple of manifolds as described but can not get hold of one, they seem to be on early 480's.
This is the manifold set up I have now, its the standard manifold with an adaptor to take a 240 throttle body and my lpg mixer on top!

I'll have a look and see if I can find a picture of the one I want.

Thanks

Dai
