It is indeed a VAG spoiler, the same as was used for the Oettinger 343 in 79 or 80.
I remember hearing that it originally was for a Passat but it may also have been for a Scirocco as 360Beast wrote.

hahahaha alright you got me there, however ive seen a few like this.

I just used this photo as i dont like the "whale tail" design.

So is there not a volvo specific duck bill spoiler? are they all pinched from other vehicles?

Hey, that used to be my car The exact part number for the Zender spoiler (in case you want to start an Ebay or Google search) is 4.112.03.3 and it was for a Scirocco. One example (already sold):

It would be a lot easier looking out for the Volvo "MkII" type however, fitted as standard to 1983 - 1985 360 GLTs ...
