thanks for all your help everyone.guess i'll just keep looking on ebay! did get a quote for them from Blayden volvo people in london at £3.11 per nut plus carriage but that works out at £60 odd! If anyone can supply me the right set for £30 inc id snap them up,otherwise i think i'll just sell my alloys and keep to steels.

Do you actually need different nuts as my 440 alloys use the standard 340 nuts.

its funny you should mention that dai because theres a 340 just gone on ebay today with 480 alloys.i asked the guy what wheel nuts he used and he said he used the standard 340 ones???? I didnt think they were the right shape.ie,they dont have that conical bit on below the nut to secure the alloy in place???? Maybe it is okay to use standard nuts then????
any ideas's anyone??

They are the same shape, just I was told that the nuts needed to be alloy so that things didn't corrode. Since then I've been trying to work out where to get alloy hubs from to

The trouble with using the (standard) steel nuts is that they don't have the right profile (not a problem in itself), but they have a non-rounded edge, and the points of the hex-head dig into the wheel. I guess when the damage is done, it's done...
Interesting stuff about the corrosion / nuts breaking...you've got me worried now!
I think 400s came with both nuts and bolts, dependant on the year.
Do we know if 940 nuts fit? They have chrome-plated steel nuts - hard as nails, and kind to the rims! Given that I have both a 360 and a 940 at my disposal, this question is easily answered!
cheers

Update: 940 nuts apparantly don't fit, although I've not checked myself.
I have a source on a brand new set of 16. They're cheaper than buying brand new from Volvo, but they're not going to be uber-cheap. PM me if you're interested - although I'll be away for almost 3 weeks from Sunday.
cheers
