Petrol tank for 360...

Post by mtucker » 14 Jul 2006 01:33 pm

Heya

After a slight incident involving a figure of 8 gravel carpark in the middle of nowhere I need a new petrol tank... Went over a stump which put the handbrake cable through it.

So has anyone got one taking up space?

Adam, do you take the part no into the dealer, and they order from someone else? Can you not order direct? I need me an injection tank sometime soon.

There's this one too:

Hadrian are cheaper - but they might take an offer! These Bathgate boys have enough parts to build a new 300...

I'm willing to bet a tenner that the Bathgate chaps (I was in Bathgate 10 days ago!) are Hadrian panels.

cheers

I was in West Lothian 10 days ago too! Didn't spot any other 300's being driven aggressively though :P

good news, after closer inspections under daylight it seems I just ripped the fuel hose out the bottom of the tank - I thought the handbrake cable idea was abit jubious...

Most funny thing was the mid section of the exhausts :) brand new shape to it as Chris will confirm lol

Do you mean the cross pipe which links the two 'saddles'? I'm too lazy to go outside and look how the 'K' tank gets its fuel. I've looked in detail at an 'E' tank today, and am hoping I can avoid swapping, as it looks like a nasty job.

cheers

I had a quick look underneath when we went on the rescue mission, that hose that connects the two sides is split, and I'm hoping the tank isn't damaged, but that needs checking. The heat shield needs a big hammer, as thats all kinds of funny shapes, and the centre section of the exhaust... well...

it used to be this shape :

Its now:
_
/_

With a tad more bend... very space saving though

I did always think that it would've been impressive to have ripped through a tank - they're seemingly bloody solid, would certainly have been a first
