Roughly what sort of mileage are you looking for to match your own, as I might have a speedo head that's roughly right?! Failing that and if you feel like having a play and getting some satisfaction, FoggyJames has produced a guide with pictures on how to repair this common fault. Found here .......http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... php?t=4147 Something I really should find the time to do to my own car! I take it that it is still showing the speed, just not clocking up the miles? Otherwise it would be the cable at fault.

A mileage of around 35000 to 50000 as I bought the car with the milometer broken and am not sure of the actual mileage (the speedo does still work though yeah) How much would you want to post that out mate?petefarrell360 wrote:Roughly what sort of mileage are you looking for to match your own, as I might have a speedo head that's roughly right?! I'll have a check first and get back to you on the speedo chap! I might even have an interior light knocking about. Id imagine the usual thing has happened where the switch breaks then falls out?

I checked the spare light that I had today, the lense isn't great, plus it's got the common switch failure. If you've not actually lost the switch and it's still got one side of the two jaw like clamps of the main body of the switch, try a small blob of glue or blutack, it worked in my old car. If you unclip the light, you might be able to see inside it easier as to what needs attaching to where! I know that the rest of my spares of interior lights have the same problem I'm afraid mate, so I can't help with that one.
Just this second checked the speedo for you, how's 54699 miles? I've checked, it's recording mileage and showing speed! Once you've got yours out it might be worth trying the repair if you've got a few minutes one day!
Private Message on way for address etc.

Yeah I'm sure I can, so I'll get to weighing it and looking for a suitable box around the place and think about the price of it all, and then get back to you.340DL wrote:yeah it is a manual one mate i'd be interested in that for sure, you think you'd be able 2 post it out? i can send you some cash to cover the any costs

Okay, having found a box that seems to fit the mirror inside I have weighed the whole package (minus a bit of packing) and it came out at the weight of 880 grams, so is in the 1 kg level for postage, which means we have a choice of first (£2.70) or second class (£2.12) postage. So... I was thinking an inclusive deal of £10 for the mirror, but feel free to suggest another price. Though I would note its nice and shiny, comes with the aduster and interior plate.
