Howdy folks,
I'm likely to add further requests to this thread in the not-too-distant future, but here's a start.
Is anyone breaking a 360 at the moment? I need the threaded tubes from the chassis rails which hold the engine mounts in place. I could do with the equivalent for the (360) gearbox mounts, too. If necessary, I have an angle grinder, and can travel...
Later 340s may well have these already fitted - I haven't looked at Nessy recently, but my memory is that the holes for the gearbox mount are threaded, at least. Neither are present on my '81 343.
cheers
James

Foggy,
360 - cross beam is solidly bolted to body, and rubber mounts (bolted to diff) are secured to beam by nuts and bolts.
340 - (certainly all manual cars) - both cross beams are solidly bolted to the tranaxle, and the rubber mounts (bolted to the body) are secured to beams by nuts and bolts.
Sort of completely opposite really.
If you need any of the "340" type mounts I'm pulling a transaxle over the next week so let me know.
Mac.

Hi Mac,
When I scoped this out on Nessy (1986 340), I'm sure that (at the very least) the holes for for both types of mounts were present. Since you could get a 1981 model year 34X with a B19, I assumed my 1981 car would have the same mounts. I guess it's possible that I'm forgetful, and I was looking at the 'empty' holes, which my 343 has.
For the box, I reckon I can use the rear mount from the 340 box instead of the 360 mount...but that doesn't solve my engine mount woes. I figure if I've got someone coming to weld it, I might as well do them both properly, especially since 340 box mounts seem to fail occasionally, while 360 ones don't.
cheers
James
