Volvo Oil Pressure & Temperature Gauges

Post by Volvo 360 GL B200K » 19 Apr 2004 11:28 am

Hey Guys, I am looking for the oil pressure and temperature gauges that fit into the tunnel console on either a volvo 340 or 360! I am willing to pay good prices for both of these gauges and their relevant sender units, or if anyone knows of where these gauges can be obtained economically, i would be most greatful for the help! Pictures of the relevant gauges canbe found on this site at http://www.volvo300mania.com/access89b.htm !

Thanks Guys, Happy Motoring!

i dunno if this would work but i've seen lots of 2**/7** cars in scrapheaps with these gauges in the centre tunnel - might possably be compatible?

Email sent.

5lab, you're quite right, the 200 series 52mm VDO gauges are the same ones as in the 300 series catalogue. The really hard part is not finding the gauges, its finding a) the twin gauge panel, and b) the senders at anything other than silly prices. I just bought a new pressure sender for £40 from VDO!

The (stock) 700 ones aren't the same though, as these live in the gauge cluster (rather like the 360 ones here on my car):

Actually.....exactly like this (note...this is a modified boost gauge).

I just have bought on Ebay the oil temperature gauge with the panel (ok, it was very expensive but it was new...)

Now I have to find the oil pressure gauge and the voltmeter (will be easier to find on the 200 series)

I'm looking for a good solution so I can put the 3 gauges... There is only the place for 2... Any suggestions are welcome!!

Either...
a) Put the voltmeter (not so important / smooth looking) on a panel in the glove box
b) Buy a A-pillar mount, and put the oil temperature and turbo boost gauges there...yeah....you heard

cheers

And what about this? The voltmeter screwed under the dashboard, in a black box... Not too ugly?

What may work, if you look at the gauge mounts for the 200 series gauges, they are nearly exactly the same shape and size as the ash tray! I was thinking about removing that and putting a voltmeter in the 200 mount in place of the ashtray! After all there is an ash trya in the rear!

Any Help?

Good idea...

And what about this solution: the gauge mounted horizontally, the 2 spaces for the switches are totally unecessary! (or for fake switches maybe sm61 )

It won't fit there unless you hack up the tunnel console...

How about putting the radio in the bottom hole (where the gauges are in that pic), and using the 3-gauge panel from a 240 to put the gauges where the radio ought to be.

I should be charging commission on the use of that image :P

Even without the wiring it shouldn't be to complicated to wire the voltmeter without the wiring, as theoretically it should just be wired across the battery! And as for the light, u can just take a feed of the clock, cigarette or ash tray light! I may be wrong...
