A few bits 1978 343

Post by thebear54 » 11 Jan 2013 01:23 pm

Hello All...
Wondering if these small bits are available in the UK and could be shipped to the States to finish my 1978 Type 1 343.

1. Spare tyre strap, two piece rubber with metal clips

2. N/S interior windscreen panel which runs from dash to roof
Image as seen in photo.

3. Center hub cap for alloy wheel
Image as seen in photo.

I have just about given up on locating the Stainless Steel rear drip edge for the N/S due to ridiculous shipping prices.

Anyone know if those centre caps are the same as for Leos?

Nimminz, I still need to grab some dimensions from you for those bud, when would be a good time?

Hi John.
I managed to get to my parts stash today. I brought the A piller trim home and test fitted
to my bannana. Although there is slite differences, it is an exact fit :D :D .
Mine however are grey in colour but it would be only a matter of spraying them black.
As there is a slite difference to the front of them, you would need to have both sides.
Cheers Mark.

Might be worth sniffing around your own patch or even TurboBricks as those caps are in common with the 200 series of the day.

Probably. The parts catalogue for V300s up to 1979 says:

GT Wheel, Hub cap plastic
CH 318092 - 409548 (283092-5)
409549 - (3293005-9)

From 1980 on, it's back to 283092 again, which is the same as hub caps on Leos, and on two types of Volvo 200 14x5.5 GT wheel:

see numbers 2 and 4
Image

see numbers 3, 4 and 11

They're hard to get hold of, and I'm missing one too!

So if you happen to unearth a batch, please let me know.

Cheers
