So, I'm best taking this thing off and making 2 precise copies.
4 small bushes, piece of steel bar - easy.
What size bolt is on either end of this rod? m10?
how wide are the bushes (center sheath mm wide?)
If I know the inner+width dimentions (i cant spell dimentions) of the bush I can select a few suitable, cut-downable bushes from carshop parts bin - it's way too cold today for my smashed up skeleton to be wrenching nuts around to get this rod off and measure it up..
Has anyone measured this thing up yet? can I follow your work?
what is this part called?
Re: what is this part called?

Hard shell dia: approx 39mm (38.3-39mm measured internal hole)
Hard shell width: 26.7mm (non critical)
Bolt hole bore: 11.9m (non critical)
Bolt hole length: 32mm (non critical)
Small end:
Type: cotton reel, bonded to inner
Bolt hole bore A=10mm
small OD C=27-28mm (not sure on this yet)
Large OD C=35mm
Total length F=32mm
Inner length E=24mm

Re: what is this part called?
On removal+inspection theres nothing wrong with the bush, it's fine?!
doesn't look that old either!

Re: what is this part called?
It was duff, the center bit had come away from the bush - heavy-duty rubber cement and a big washer, cooked it in front of fan heater and fitted it back with a retaining washer, Solid as you like!
So onward:
Polishing the headlight reflectors and 'do' the brake lines, bit of detailing going on too:
