What's it for Chris? (340? 360?)
In the meantime take a quick swatch at http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =2&t=15203 and http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =9&t=13770
Got nothing here as "mac" was working on this one some time ago.
ETA: that number doesn't come up with much. Must be an old thing moulded into the rubber.

Re: volvo pt 233246, diff to body bush/mounting
no longer urgent. I used a roll of 'adhesive tape'.
Duralon...
Sounds reassuring.
in a sentence: I giddily taped up the bush.
It's for a 340 1.4, Mac.
The thing looks easily fabricatable.
I am surprised poly ones arent available.
-bogbasic, this was contributing to the rattle of the prop, may have been misaligned for a while, there always was a whine from the axle area.... I will video it now, it be running most excellently btw. Tappets done, carb adjusted re the second throttle not being completely closed = 600rpm idle and very good on fuel. Fast sometimes too. No zebedee effect, apart from first 20 seconds if a bit cold. I reckon its sorted.

Wicked work. Them is 'ard to get but I think its on classicswede's to-do list and I sent him an old 360 one a while back to use as a template, so there's hope on that front too.

the teheh-hehe ahem!, sellotaped up bush is great - quiet, gearstick doesnt move around etc
Try it yourself! (neil buchanan)
300 miles and holding strong.
Sellotape. Thin, cheap sellotape. Wound with tension, a lot, carefully. And pvc tape.
Exactly Like a crossply tyre without the kite string.
Next problem.
Prop is rattly as a rattle, but its silent and smooth if i hold the gears so as to engage a synchro... Ach.. Adds to the charm. Presumably Prop bearings are unobtanium?... Can fit Oversized bb's? Maybe extra prop holding things?
I should do something about the backfiring on the way down too, you can tell its doing it on purpose just to show off. I think the actual running mixture is a bit too rich = worn main jet?

Wicked work with the sellotape - I hope it lasts well. The prop shaft used to rattle quite a lot in neutral with my foot off the clutch. If it was too embarassing for any reason, I used to put my foot on the clutch or rev up very slightly to stop it ;-0
It only ever backfired on me when I had a wonky idle solenoid but that was replaced last year so probbers its the mixture or sumthin ;-?

it is rich. I dont want to lose the backfiring though
500 miles!
Ha ha ha!
I know a bloke who'll weld it up... When it fails i'll do it properly.
I suppose 22 years after ceasing production if I cant find it then it doesn't exist or buying one would be more expensive than making one.....
