RETAINING SPRING FOR CENTRAL FRONT GRILL?
RETAINING SPRING FOR CENTRAL FRONT GRILL?
Does anyone have a spare retaining spring with the plastic insert that locks down the central plastic grill on a Volvo 340?...

Re: RETAINING SPRING FOR CENTRAL FRONT GRILL?
a) There's a "demand" section (a.k.a "wanted") for cars and parts wanted in the V3M Sell & Buy section of the forum.
b) I always think of "grill" for cooking and "grille" for radiator mesh/grating, but it doesn't really matter unless you're entering a search keyword
c) On a 1988 car (MY86>), there is/are no spring(s)? I thought they gave up that attachment method after MY85??

My car is an E reg and manufactured in 1988 and it has the spring/clip that holds the central plastic grill/panel on to the car in front of the radiator...

Okay. I'll have a look next time I see the cars, but in the meantime, the only picture I have is this one, which doesn't look like a spring to me.

No, there are two located on the outer edge of the central plastic grill which has Volvo written on it, they come in from the top once the bonnets open. Your picture shows the central part which is all ok on my car...

Well you're car may have had another grille fitted?? AFAIK It's just the central one used as pictured on a 1988.
Re: RETAINING SPRING FOR CENTRAL FRONT GRILL?
What, that holds on that entire front central plastic part that lives in front of the radiator?...

MP, they do exist on later cars. Both Kar and Fake have had them, three fixings on top and two pegs on the bottom.
Chill the heck out!
Moving to the demand section.

Cheers Chris, just spoke to his lordship and conclude part book error. (Does the GLT grille have them?)

Part number 3297069.
I'm off to chill (or not as I'm dealing with a rather stubborn, rusty, sheary set of manifold to downpipe stud just now. Grrr!)

When you say tie backs do you mean zip-ties?... I'd rather have the real thing...
