Hello,

I need the right rear driveshaft (also called "half shaft", the shaft between the diff/tran. and the wheel) with both joints (wheel side & tranny side) for Volvo 360 B200K '87.

Also, does anyone know, are they the same as for 340?

I need it urgently, will pay for DHL shipping, as this is the only thing left that i need to get the car on the road again.

thanks

inner and outer cv joints are the same.
you can put a joint from 1978 model to 1988 model.
not sure about shaft length.
left and right ones are the same too. usually the outer joint of right shaft goes out first - you cannot see broken boot at once.

be carefull-shafts the same BUT diff's are different! depending on what g'box you have. you may have to put a spacer between diff output and the driveshaft.
did u snap/bend a shaft?

I guess the previous owner did. I thought only the joint needs to be replaced, but my mechanic said the shaft is also bad.

But it seems I got extremely lucky today. I found exactly the same model car at a local scrapyard which is a miracle because 360s are almost non-existent here. The guy said the shafts & joints are still good and the boots aren't broken. I'll go get them tomorrow.

Sometimes. But usually a mechanic will take the part you need off the car.

I just learned that the joints are not the same for all models (as advertised in all catalogs). I found a 360 GLE 1984 and the shaft diameter is larger than on my 360 GL 87. Also the shaft is shorter.

i do not agree completely. have replaced or repaired these on several 300-s. shaft diameter does not matter. how can you see actual shaft length without dismantling it completely?

I dismantled it completely. :) The diameter of the shaft where it fits in the joint is different. Also the joints have different codes (both are produced by Löbro).
