When I mentioned Mac's book the other day, I was angling for the specific carb code, rather than the family.

109-100 looks like what should be on it according to the list in this post: viewtopic.php?p=178166#p178166

Fair play stabbing away at gasket paper if you "need it yesterday", but for a all the hassle... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14874

I have a set of these for those need-it-yesterday moments: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360813034311 (Keep 'em peeled at the pound shop)

the modified version for Types 93,104 & 109
to reduce float chamber vapour. :) excellent! One please.
And the manifold-to-carb flange-gaskets.. Eg an inclusive 'full set'?

The carb is becoming less happy again, at a rate!

I always wonder, what would an honest review of the 300 have looked like on topgear. Or an 'intened to be' destructive set of tests that were 'failed' due to breakdown of testing facility/old age of operatives.

I wish the weather would 'mild-en'.. Its overly masochistic to diagnose my engine rattle atm.

A Speedy Scrap man took the remnants of the door, I didn't think in time to keep the matching-tint quarterglass. :( (vultures)

my door is in good nick so not worth keeping+toolshed is overstocked so much its completely inaccessible.

blah blah blah... Come on weather!!!

got my heart set on a 50s volvo... Amazon or Similar. Cause very stylish, not saying good or bad, just very.

Question- what 50s60s Era volvo had 130bhp and efi?

That was a speedy scrapman - I was going to suggest keeping the solenoid ;-o

theyre like jackals here. One had half my garden in his van before I noticed. I remarked on the absurd nature of the attempted theft etc. Pointed out the street furniture and parked cars as viable loot. Hey you! Grrr! nearly kicked him in the arse.

I'd have taken the solenoid for auto boot popper/drivers door remote lock/unlock.

Thinking of adding an alarm+remote start btw(motorbike combi unit). (actually useful!) would need a solenoid to turn choke a bit for 30seconds... Cool project!!

Weather is cool! Had a back wheel off the ground for a split second!!! Scary stuff. Nice and clean though. Spotless!

What next.. Financial situation is improving!!

central locking?

Im liking upgrading the accessories.

Aircon+powersteering?.... Would mean turning the idle up to a normal level though. Clio butchery?

On inspecting the clocks- the clocks have never been tampered, the mileage is precise.

Suspecting the timing chain as source of the rattle... is the tensioner between crank and camshaft with chain going from crank-tensioner-cam? Eg, when revving down the chain would be slackest on the tensioner side and rattle most in that condition? in worn state would be trying to push! The camshaft, causing lively thrashing....

Reckon Ive twigged it.

My experience with Morris Minors says it will be the chain.

PV's are rare and fetch good money as they are very popular in the rally scene. You can pick up amazons in need of work cheaply but you be best of with a late 60's one as the suspension and brakes are improved. 50's models are very rare and fetch a premium.

The P1800E and ES has the B20E and F engines with Bosch mechanical and electronic fuel injection. The same engine was also used in the 140 and the 164 also used the same EFI system.

I finally fit the super-dooper oil filter, its from japan and only just fits. Holds a litre easily n has all the bells and whistles including a precise one-way valve, and pressure relief valve.

Just going to test..

Engine stopped, all warnings on. Oil Light goes off INSTANTLY!
And oil capacity is up by half a litre+!

Turn off, ignition back on: oil light STAYED off for thirteen seconds!
+eyeballs nearly popped out

Purified-uninterruptible-latency-free-oil-supplied Cleon-fonte keeping me cosywarm up in the sticks as we speak :)

Milkulinaminemene filters japan. (Wrong spelling)
Nos on ebay, for 3quid each. Worth a tenner in my eyes.

Will chuck the link up later. And it comes in a nice jap box, the box is better than a wix filter.

Nice big storm coming(or at least badass rain) Might chuck a bit of turtlewax around beforehand ;)

CBA man, evil work. I would eventually like a groovy oil filter for the 1.7 you saw. Will it fit?? I found some lirrel bulbs today and will post in the next few days to the address that you PM'd me a few days ago. Do you still need them??

if the 1.4 filter fits then yeah, fairly likely. It is from a small batch meant for mazda pickups. So can filter a lot out for a long time.

Ive not used ebay since pc internet ran out, my phone hates ebay.. I dont blame it. Phone pipes audio to car radio + is happy. Theres a good lot of these filters left owing to the rustiness of th mazda, btw I simply cross referenced the filter base dimensions and scanned thru ebay. Got most brutally intended filter I could find. .. Actually, there were some industrial filters..... But that's taking the cake.

Still want the bulbs yes.
