That whining Mmmmm mm accc

Post by mac » 10 Jan 2016 11:07 am

Hi girls, a big thanks to everyone who responded to my need for 400 h/lamps - it's down to the ""customer"" now.

But of course there is always another needy soul. One of my "regulars" and one of George's "friends of the Volvo 300" is now off the road for want of a throttle cable.

Can anyone help with a - throttle cable for 360 with B200k (Solex Z11)

I have some bits, I may have canibalised my carb one for a shorter injection one with a imperfect end on it. I think I only have a good outer with no plastic thread, but will check.

Whas wrong with his? is it the plastic thread broken?

Actually have a mostly complete carb cable, I had 2. This one is just missing the pointy end piece that keeps the dirt out, which I have but it needs a screw type cable end to replace the pressed in one to get it on ( I can suggest the supplier), or you could hot melt glue it or some other bodge depending of the level of finish required.

It seems to have become very stiff and notchy and gives an "all or nothing" response.
It may have become frayed but I'm getting him to check his engine earth in case he's tried to melt the plastic liner.
It's been getting progressively worse over the last couple of months. As far as I know the plastic adjust thread is fine.

I'm sure I can fix something up from the parts if you're willing to part with them. PM me your price!

Thanks Tony - Mac.

Ride on: Can you please measure the length of the cable and of the outer sleeve?
Looking at the photo I seem to remember having a couple of new ones that I haven't been able to identify and that look suspiciously identical......

What a whining Mmmmm mm accc can be good for

RJ, I will do a full measure and photo set when it arrives with me. Won't whine much more - promise.

Mac, please please keep on whining!
You are the first person I know of who identifies parts 600 mls away by complaining  (!) and clears boxes full of unidentified 300 parts
I still have plenty of parts left.......
