Keys & lockbarrels no longer used
I am looking for old door and ignition keys and lockingbarrels of the 300 series to make my key archive more complete.
This with the intention to make keys available again should one lose his/her keys.
The locking barrels are needed to identify keys if these are not coded (especially the post 84 doorkeys) or to serve as a checkingtool once new keys are cut.
So who has anything lying around.......
Many thanks.

There's something hypnotic about this thread. Not quite clear what volvomania wants to do with everyone's locks and keys....

I am not looking for the keys that are in use still, but for the odd key and barrel that is tucked away in a dark corner (e.g. after a door handle swap or after the car has been scrapped)bogbasic wrote:There's something hypnotic about this thread. I have been collecting the odd orphaned key and barrel now for years.
The whole idea behind it is to collect a set of keys, that can be duplicated if someone has lost his/her last key, and to identify keys using the barrels.
I have so far been able to help 2 owners with a duplicate of their key so that they could lock their pre 85 300 again (talking of luck....)
Other advantage is that you sometimes come across identical barrels .... this makes the beginning of a lock set !

It'd be easier to make this set up from the blanks and the codes rather than the key. Might need a big keyring though.
