Oil Temperature Gauge and Sender

Post by TasMan » 31 Aug 2020 08:03 pm

Bit of a long shot, one will turn up eventually...
Anyone have a matching oil temp gauge and the correct sender for a B200 to fill the void so to speak...
I would be interested in either or both if you have such a thing spare.
Hoping to install these over the winter, along with an oil change which is the ideal time to stick in the sump plug/sender...
Many thanks!

Hi TasMan,

I don't have any spares, but since the gauge often turns up without the sender, maybe this info will help:

M18 x 1.5
VDO 23-801-012-003D

I bought this one for my GLT a few years back:
https://www.autoteiledirekt.de/vdo-825913.html
and it works a treat ...

All the best

Thanks very much for this information Tom.
I am still building up my knowledge, I assume the M18 x 1.5 is also the sump plug thread for a B200 ?
I will need to keep a look out for one of these in the event I don't find a gauge and sensor together.
They do seem to come up for sale now and again...somehow I missed a set on the FB group and wasn't quick enough on an Ebay Buy Now a couple of months ago

I'm after a resonably priced panel/gauges too, want to add to my rarities collection i'm slowly building which so far includes:
Full bodykit
Hella Grill
2x sets of Leos
Factory shift light
Front kick panel speakers
Many sets of C-pillar speakers
Working not leaking sunroof
7 series Momo steering wheel

Slowly amassing more and more 🙂 i know some aren't as rare as others, but some are rare enough for them to only be a myth to some.

The panels and gauges do seem to turn up from time to time, just a case of waiting around.
I would like a Hella Grille at some point, although again happy to wait, not essential. Yours is looking good....!
I was lucky enough to pick up a set of cavity covers for the boot and a snowcap a couple of months back which are nice additions.
That accessories catalogue I posted up recently is like a wanted list for most 300 owners..... There are a lot of aftermarket 80s car accessories that are rather cool (non oem) additions to a 360....weird to think I was brought up in the 80s when most of that stuff was for sale in motor factors, yet now everyone pays silly money on Ebay for things....!
