Yeh I know. you probably think I am being a bit sad here but has anyone got any stickers from the redline car magazine that they could sell me ?
I want two large ones (to go on front and rear screens ) and two small ones (to go under the volvo badges on the front wings). I'm also looking for a couple of good cheap 340 badges as well and a couple of 1.7 badges I will of course pay postage as well , Cheers

Hey its not my fault they named a magazine after my car !!
You can just picture the scene ,
some 17 year old spotty wannabe souped up hatchback magazine editor driving down the road trying to keep up with a grey 340 spotting the rubber boot spoiler and then seeing the subtle little REDLINE badge

When I learns to write Thats wot I will call my mag.
Its probably devalued my car .
still it do's mean I can use all there little freebies

debaged is great if you dont want people to know what just overtook them
i remember there was a group of lads in a renault 19 on a roundabout near where i live they shot round the roundabout and headed for the bypass screemin the nuts of this poor renault.
so i folowed them down the bypass right up behind them droped into 3rd and sailed past them the look on his face as my girlfriend waved at them will stay with me forever
he tried to give chase when he saw volvo 340 stamped on the back end
i bet he hasent told his mates about me

dare to be different

My word dude, that must have been one slow-ass Renault 19! The hot ones (mainly the 16v) are seriously quick. Just wait for the terror you can inflict on rudeboys when you get that 360....and then turbo it
I'm kinda hoping I'll be able to suck the bodykit off a Saxo with my twin carbs!
cheers

What sort of power do you think you'll get with twin carbs? They do look very tasty from the pic I saw - must be extremely rare!
Suprised a 340 1.4 beating a Renault 19, even the 1.4 Renault 19 has about 80bhp! Having some fun in the 360, its great for effortless overtaking, and upsetting some guys in a Golf cabriolet (hairdressers??).

power is great but if you dont know how to drive properly its of no use
it was a renault 19 1.4 not the energy engine its phisicaly the same as my engine
i have just checked the hand books for both the volvo and the renault
volvo b14.4e = 72bhp
renault 19 1.4 c1j = 60bhp
dont know where you got 80 bhp from

dare to be different

Ah I didn't know there was a 60bhp renault version of the engine, most of the ones I've seen are the 1.4 80bhp energy engine, which is where I got that figure from

I think that the 1.4 in the 340 does a pretty good job for what is a heavy car, the 345s we had went quite well really!
I would've liked to have seen the looks on their faces when your girlfriend waved whilst passing

the look on his face was probably the same look he had when he was told theres no santa
most people forget that there was a engine before the energy
energy= 80 bhp
so you were right there

Well...how long is a piece of string? If I just bolt those on with filters, probably about 110-115. But the real beauty is what it frees me up to do in the future. I will now have the capacity to run a hotter cam, do some head work, maybe get a performance exhaust, and be safe in the knowledge that I'm not being strangled by that tiny carb!
cheers

That is true! I guess the original carb is quiterestricting. Sounds like you have a few nice plans
