Document Wallet

Has anyone got a spare document wallet that is normally kept in the glove box suitable for a 1988 340? I've got the original drivers handbook that came with the car but would like a wallet or folder to put it in. Seem to remember that they were blue plastic with transparent pockets to put the handbooks in ( but could be totally wrong). Beer tokens await for one in good condition. Thanks

Yes it is - Bought from Ebay about a fortnight ago. Brought back to Swansea from a village just outside Warrington. Originally an Essex car - Rayleigh. 83K on clock 1988 on an F plate - and just going for MOT - needs tuning for emissions and headlights beam set as I've had to change both as they were stone chipped. Ok condition wise - No rust on body as far as i can see but has usual nearly 19 year old scrapes and lumps and bumps. Cheers

Oooo, nice. Redline drivers of the world unite!
I'll have a look, I may have a wallet knocking about from my previous motors.

Both of mine are black with transparent pockets. Good buy! Nice to see a redline being looked after ...

yeah i've got one, from a 1.7 F reg 340GL. full of lies like the lifetime care rubbish and the a picture book of middle class families with dogs looking hopeless while an AA man in a béret changes a wheel on a 740. some other tat is included. very readable, take it away for the price of postage.
found the RAC key it came with. No indication of what it unlocks however.

Thanks all for comments and offers. Pm'd Vart as his seems to be closest match on year.
Cheers

its black rather than blue just in case. with volvo and some creepy line art on the front and 'OWNER INFORMATION WALLET' along the spine. has a pocket for what i'd guess to be the drivers handbook (missing) and some clearish pockets for business card shaped cards.
the 1983 wallet i have is way less swanky.

I thought it used to open the RAC phone boxes, when RAC phone boxes existed. Found a picture of one (apparently at Crich at the Tramway Museum)

Of course the AA had the same deal going, but with different boxes.
I'm far too young to remember any of this of course, so its mostly remembering what I think I was told once in a blue moon. (in other words, don't quote me in exams)

Yup, it's true. My Redline came with just such a key and I tried to return it to the vendor, thinking it may be something he'd need.

If you haven't done so already, it may be worth having a peep behind the plastic bit (spoiler? lip? splitter?) on the front valance.

There was no hint of rust from the outside until I took the thing off.
