wanted open or locked diff

How do all came home today to have a big bang coming off a roundabout then a noise rather like a raspberry coming from the back so stopped and checked to find oil coming from the back like no tomorrow flowing from diff housing. i managed to get it home in dead silence with no more knocks or bangs and seemed to be ok. But diffs dont just drop their oil do thay are the casings prone for breaking?

Any way Im looking for a good diff really can anyone please help?

Where about are you? Diffs are quite heavy so would be expesive to ship.

im near peterborough and i will travel about 60 miles to collect cheers for your help
