I was browsing the ol' microfiche earlier, and the design of the seatbelt and the part nos seem to differ between Mk1/Mk2 and the Mk3 models.
1976 - 1984
3298067-4 (3-point belts)
3274740-4 (lap belt)
release switch in the middle of the buckle
1985 -
3211743-4 (3-point belts)
3211744-2 (lap belt)
release switch on the end of the buckle
It looks like the part nos are the same for the LH and the RH too so maybe it doesn't matter from which side you grab the donor belt from.

Re: Mk1 seatbelts
I am now also in need of a Mk1 / <84 Mk2 seat belt too! A rear one in my Mk1 can no longer be pulled out.
In theory I could remove one from one of my MkIIIs and swap the buckle around as well (they're not interchangeable, I've tried) but I'd rather have the early type.
Can anyone help? As far as I know, the early version was fitted to all cars up until the 1984 MY. The later version was fitted to the last of the MkIIs (MY 1985) and to all MkIIIs.
The early one looks like this:
The seat belt clip on the early versions is "open" as in the picture and the red release switch on the buckle is in the middle. On later versions, the seat belt clip is "closed" and the red release switch is on the end of the buckle.
Cheers
Tom

Re: Mk1 seatbelts
OK, this is what an "early version" 76 - 84 rear seat belt buckle looks like:

Re: Mk1 seatbelts
It looks like I'll be breaking a 1984 360 GLS 3dr in a few weeks. Fingers crossed it has the right belts...

Re: Mk1 seatbelts
Cheers, James. I've now scavanged the MkIII seatbelt from the GLT, as that's off the road anyway at the moment. But I'd rather have the old style belt in the 343, or at least a MkIII seatbelt back in the GLT
