Need a new speedo cable - Part deleted, none in Sweden even...

Anyone got one knocking about - preferably new? Or know where I can get one?

I've been looking in eBay a fair bit lately, but only found clutch cables so far.

Just in case anyone from the LHD world is reading this, I found this Italian website which appears to offer speedo cables for all LHD 300s back to 1976:

Note: There are 3 types. The one for 343's, then there is one for SMITH gages from 82 till 85 I think, and after that it became VDO.

SMITH has square indication lights for feul and temp. VDO has round ones...

They do seem to take into account the Smiths / VDO differences. What I don't know is if there are other differences (such as engine type?) which aren't considered there ...

I never understood for example why Sweden should get their own part number for a Smiths speedo cable ...

In Holland, i informed about the speedo cable a couple of weeks ago (at the Volvo dealer) and they could order new ones from Volvo for about €35.

Do you remember which part no you asked for Jos? I could do with either one of these:

3205601-2 (VDO LHD) or
3205802-6 (VDO LHD Sweden)

but I'd always thought they were NLA ...

I can still get three kinds of speedo cables locally (second source, not original Volvo, probably Ricambiflex then) - all are 15 EUR -

1976 - 08/1981 Smiths, length 135 cm, with 2.5 x 2.5 mm ends
09/1981 - 08/1984 Smiths, length 140 cm lower end is 3 x 3 mm
09/1984 - 1991 VDO length 134 cm, with 2.5 x 2.5 mm ends

They also mention a 09/1984 - 1991 Yazaki type which is not available. Whatever that is, then... Smiths is the one with a plastic clip, and VDO is the one with a bayonet i.e. twist 1/4 turn and it'll come off.

But they're all for LHD models so probably won't help you much...
