A/C parts in Aus

that I can ship to the UK please. I'm coming over to a few places along the Eastern side of Australia in October/November, and I'd like to visit some scrappys and nab some A/C bits that we can't get over here, particularly condensors and evaporators...well anything A/C basically :D

Is there any V3mer out there in the Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns or Gold Coast area who fancies a meet up and helping some UK V3mers out?

Come on Aussies, take pity on us poor A/C-starved Europeans ;-)

Andy, perhaps you could try contacting this chap. I can't see the evaporator on that pic, but maybe the guy still has the heater box ...

Not far from Brisbane as far as I can tell ...

I'd be up for some of those bits if you're able to pick them up

I had a bit of a look at that item in ebay too, but didnt' even think of this topic - sorry guys!

I did grab myself the set of headlight protectors that he had tho, and from the couple of emails I've had from him (not much I know) he seems to me like a decent sort of bloke.

I'm happy to chaufer you to pick a part and provide you with tools needed to strip out the car they have there, also there's another volvo wreckers within half an hour of me who will have already stripped parts, but costs alot more.

however, i think you will find postage is a real killer for anything large to the uk, from memory the whiteline swaybar i have here would have cost approx $90au to send there.

I'm not bothered about the postage costs :) When they're that unavailable its a price I'm willing to pay :D Dalahare thanks for the offer, I may well take you up on that. We're so woefully short of A/C parts over here that I'm planning on getting at least two sets, minus the compressors. Not worth the hassle for those as the seals will have gone and I know I can get new ones from A/C specialists. If there's local breakers around that will have A/C parts then that's probably going to be much easier? IIRC all 300s if they survive had A/C on them in Aus?

I couldn't see any other items that guy had on e-bay. Did you contact him direct Anne?

Yes I did Tom/Pettaw, (I pounced on the headlight protectors as soon as I spotted them) it did take a couple of days for him to answer though.

Update on the headlight protectors....the guy put them straight into a padded bag, without any other protection and the inevitable happened...one got broken on the way. :(

Another thought....the compressor is playing up in daughters car and making funny noises, anyone know how much a new one is??

I got one a couple of years ago for about 200 GBP, about 400 AUD?

Forgot to say. Whereabouts are you Anne? I'll be flying up to Cairns first and then going on a tour up to Cape York, before driving myself back down south to eventually fly back home from Melbourne.

I'm around 1/2 way between Cairns and Townsville, on the coast you can call in for a coffee if you like...and I can pick your brains?

Andy's the right man for all your Volvo 300-related questions, Anne ;-) Give the guy a few slices of cake as well ;-)
