360 rims neede - South London / Surrey

Hi all,

today on the way to work one of my alloys decided to fall off. Either the wheel nuts losened themselves off since yesterday, or somebody had been trying to remove the wheels. Anyway, the rim is toast as the holes for the studs are now oval [and before you label me a muppet for not noticing, I did feel the vibration but believe me a loose wheel falls off real fast!!] and I'm kind of not a fan of aged alloys now [especially as they take an age to paint up]. The rims I put on quite recently, and have new tyres on so I'm keen to get my hands on a set of 14" steels so I can do a swop.

So if anybody has some ugly old steel rims lying around that take the slightly wider tyres needed for the 360 then I'd be eternally grateful. More even; I'm actually prepared to pay for them!

Oh yes: I was at the tyre fitters trying to get a new set of rims [they actually had some 15" in!!]. The guy next to me had a flat and the fitters were scratching their heads. Why? The donkey had only lost a wheel nut so welded the rim to the hub. D'oh!

Cheers.

Depends how many you need, I have (I think) 2 400 series steelies (14" right offset etc). I *may* have 3, but I certainly don't have 4.

- thanks for that!On reflection I think a lose wheel is perhaps a safe way to have an accident if you are going to have one! Car vibrates like mad so it's obvious something is up.

I'll pop along to the breakers today if I have time, so will check the Clio rims out. Somebody here suggested getting the existing rim welded up, which is one option.

Jay thanks for your offer - could I get back to you? I may have been a bit rash yesterday in deciding to bin everything and start again!!

Calmed down now. Bought some rims from a breakers; I'll get the tyres swopped over ASAP. I'll not try and get the existing rim repaired - too much of a nightmare scenario that one! Then I'll try and find a matching alloy and paint it up. Chances of my finding a single matching rim???

Joy.

Thanks for the offer Jay by the way.

I believe they are the mark 2 GLT variants - I'll have to go and photograph the things and make attempts at uploading. I'm in no rush though; I'll have the tyres swopped over next week, so then I'll be fully mobile and legal again. Kind of like the look of the black rims; very Robocop.
