Due to a slight argument with my gate, I'm now needing a rubbing strip for the nearside rear quarter for my 3-door mk2 in readiness for the imminent bodywork resto

It was an old dears express, one lady owner who, alas, was not that careful towards the end. Terry the Volvo breaker had actually been sold it for £50 even though it had 6 months MOT left on it, he considered it far too good to break so we swapped it for a rotten red one with a seized engine I'd been given. When I mot'd it a few months later I found the petrol tank was damaged too, probably from the same mini-prang. I've got a tailgate in the same colour from a GLT (complete with badging & spoiler) but the one on the car may be salvageable yet - though it's at the bottom of my list of V300 priorities so for now just serves as a winter runaround

The black 360GLT got clipped by a dustcart, but just caused slight damage to the bumper and a broken bracket. The paid me out in cash in lieu of getting it repaired - hopefully in 3 or 4 months once I have located a rust-free drivers door, that too will be getting a full paint

I don't have one, but it may help if you showed a close-up pic of the damaged area? IIRC, the MkIIs had two types of "narrow" rubbing strip, one with chrome and one without.

This one is plain black, if you look carefully at the photo's there is no chrome. Spec-wise, it's an 85 GL that seems to have had a lot of extra's specified when new - the spoiler, electric windows, 'plush' seats etc
