I dont want anything to do with any of your so called Tug and Pull jobs Speedy.Speedy88 wrote:Yeah but doing "tug and pull" in a job.
Re: first volvo
I drove 360 GLT's with no PAS and knackered top mounts, in central London, for years. I could be seeing tugging and pulling on the Kings Road on a regular basis, but maybe that was down to all the supermodels
Re: first volvo
Personally I don't think it's needed really, my GLS is fine, maneuvers become harder but it's hardly unmanageable

No, not at all. I'm just lazy. And what do you expect me to do when I'm on the phone?! I only have one hand to turn the wheel then Yes I'm joking.
Re: first volvo
oh em gee, this car is very very nice. No real rust underneath, just the front of the wings as pictured. Sills are mostly fine apart from 1 spot on the back off side but I reckon that'd keep for another year or so. It's injection too so runs sweet as a nut. Only thing I found slightly concerning was the brakes were a little bit hard. Nothing a quick bleed won't solve. Bit of welding would make this car shine again 80k and towbar never used. Belts all looked fine and it appears that there are no leaks. Could use some new door hinges for the drivers side in the next few years. Interior very good, looks brand new. At the right price, maybe

Re: first volvo
Yeah if it lands under the right number. Especially with that long MOT and double especially as I've got some extra tinkering space now.

I've got a habit of seeing past the negatives in a car.Speedy88 wrote:oh em gee, this car is very very nice. No real rust underneath, just the front of the wings as pictured. It never sold and after I received the email "i thot u wanted volvo" I offered him £200. No reply and relisted here:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1984-VOLVO-360-GL ... 2c54c45ed7
They've also added that the interior is good and the wheels are rare after I commented exactly this upon viewing! (I actually said the car was rare and the wheels sought after but never mind)
My reasoning behind not paying £300 was although the car was solid underneath and ran well, in the end her son's van was parked suspiciously too close to the drive, meaning I couldn't get the car out for a test drive. Suposedly the son was away at his home in Bournemouth, 15 miles away but there was considerable heat coming from the van's radiator. They knew I was coming at that time. Alarm bells begin to ring. Not that a few days under my hand wouldn't fix any problems, especially for you VND but still for £300 I could get a working 300.
With limited inspection the brakes were very hard although they appeared to function in the half a foot I could roll back. I had no idea what the gearbox/clutch was like which is pretty much the only thing I didn't get to test. Say it still goes for £200, I may still have it.
This just frustrates me, why can't people be more honest when they sell cars ffs?

Dude, you should have seen the saab 99 I went to look at locally before I got the Feztar.
honest saab seller wrote:Saab 99 saloon, always garaged, one family from new, leather interior, fssh, always garaged, minilites, t&t, excellent condition for year. £250 drive away!
Grab Wallet, Coat, keys, two busses and a metro and im there an hour and a half later.
Both front wings rottern through on the tops and on the arches. Both sills so rottern that the rubber door seals hang out through to underneath the car. Hillarous 'patch' welded over something on the rear quarter (litterally a square piece of metal just welded on top of what I presume is a hole.) Two flat tyres, drivers door lock broke and it wont start.
"battery must have gone flat over night mate".
Aye, done a lot of damage, that battery.
An hour and a half back home on public transport in a rage.
Re: first volvo
Cheeky buggers! £200 is very fair, I'd certainly not pay any more for it - it'll be festering rust that thing!

If they don't seem to be able to string a sentence together, and aren't letting you test drive it, I'd walk away - mostly out of principle
