Well, the HÖR is no more...

The white saloon was pretty bad too, so I bought another 360: a white 360 GL saloon. This car has hardly any rust, has a full Volvo dealer service history from when it was new. The previous owner traded in a 340 DLS from 1981 when he bought this car.
All it needs is a set of new shocks and a new timing belt. The Koni's of the HÖR will make a huge difference!
It's pretty stock right now, but I have a lot of goodies to make it better.

The evening I bought it:

Added fog lights, swapped the bumper hole covers for bumper vents, added rear seat belts and installed a new rear light cluster.

I'll add more pictures when the weather gets better.

Indeed, it was an awesome find. A near perfect car with full service history is rare. It has only run 113.000 km so it is practically brand new! ;)
I'm not fully enjoying it yet because of the worn shocks, but that special 360 feeling has returned!
The Koni's, the HÖR lowering springs and blocks together with the already installed rear coils will solve that soon!

This fall I will have a friend of mine who has a bodyshop get rid of the tiny bits of rust and the car will undergo a full Dinitrol preservation treatment. They will wash out all the hollow spaces, spray them with some kind of rust eliminating fluid and than spray the hollow spaces and the whole bottom of the car with a protective coating. It will NEVER rust again! sm4

yeah.
i think that'll do it all right!
Thatll bring some smiles to the drive to work for sure.
and the drive back home too.

it looks like a really well looked after car from the photos.
there must be a lot of good saloons in the flatlands because everyone i see looks almost mint.

Which reminds me, I must get over there this summer and horde some parts...

Oh, i WILL be smiling all the way! The car has indeed been well looked after. Even the body protection on the car's belly has recently been redone. Really strange they did not bother to change the timing belt. it was due 5 years ago!

Offcourse I will check for rust on a regular base. My intention is to keep it atleast this good.
If you keep the wheelarches clean and refresh the coating regularly rust won't get a chance.

I fear winters... This car has only been used for short trips and holydays. It always sat in a garage when it was not driven.
I think my water bill will go up a little in winter...
