I'm travelling teacher, I teach elderly and unemployed people to use computer, well more like T H I S I S A C O M P U T E R you are not supposed to drool over it

Most of my students are just fine, 20-40 years old females mostly.

I did computer sales and repairs before but that was crappy job. Also I did work little time at car repairs, but my skin don't like to be exposed to oil at daily bases, so had to quit that.

Travelling is quite big part of job, 200-1000km twice a week, weeks off home so I know hotels quite well.

Also I'm boss of computer department, but for that I don't have much of time, so I delegate those tasks to someone I can fool for it  Sometimes I have nobody to give task to and need to do stuff myself after the day, buying new computers and such, very time consuming and boring tasks as every seller is trying to cheat on you so need to do lot of research.

Teaching part is quite nice, it is very rarely same day twice, quite rewarding job in that sense. Surely not job for everyone, but if uncomfort is not an issue and one likes to see bit of 'world' this is one of best jobs.
I don't think that I could do job where you come to same room each day, two weeks in one place is absolutely maximum to me, after that I start being restless
Teaching part is dead easy, working hours are not bad 9am to 3pm and salary is quite bit more than average due to travelling compensation so I would recommend this job to anyone, but not everyone can stay away from home most of year.

Teaching 20-40 year old females. That sounds like quite a nice niche job there dude.

I would normally put some kind of thinly veiled sexual reference in my post now, but I'm trying to give up perversion for Lent.

I work for a company that flogs electrical and mechanical support systems to mines and oil rigs and suchlike,
Its fairly boring warehouse work, though in the past i've worked in Tailoring, Medical Engineering, an as MoD Contractor fixing British and Swedish army vehicles, a call-centre Admin drone, a 7.5 tonne truck driver, and most recently before I emigrated - a forklift driver working at the LandRover plant in Solihull.
but I'm trying to give up perversion for Lent

Quite right... I do a bit of teaching of 1st year uni electronics labs. Originally started just for some pennies, I then found I really enjoyed it. I dont' think I could ever do school teaching, but I get to point and laugh at the students when they do silly things  If nothing else I now see why people would actually choose it as a career!

I'm currently a research assistant at the uni where I also study. I'm now designing and building this one automation demonstration device for the automation course and assisting in setting up the new Bosch Rexroth hydraulics test bench which was bought to our department (Department of Agrotechnology at the Helsinki University) some time ago.

There's also a new CAN-bus development environment which haven't been set up or tested yet so when other jobs are done that might be the next area to work on.

I also do some measuring and collect/process the measuring data for the currently ongoing research projects.

Also when it's slow with the proper tasks I also tinker with our field robot which is a joint project between our department and the Helsinki University of Technology. :P

1) The day job is about electronics. I mostly do purchasing, though my knowledge of the various components is such that I also help out the R&D department when they're starting a new project. What is available, what's the cost, what works and what doesn't. Sometimes interesting but most of the time just mind-numbing fiddling with parts databases and Excel worksheets. The business is down about 40% from last year so I've had some weeks of unpaid vacation this spring.

2) I'm a part-time taxi driver, on Friday and Saturday nights I drive around the city in a Volvo V70, transporting mostly party-going people around the place, and they're in various stages of inebriation.

Oh it's not too bad, most of the people are just merry. Admittedly some get a bit annoying when the level of alcohol in the blood starts slowly dropping, and everything has gone wrong during their evening, etc. I rarely have any real trouble with the customers though. Most "trouble" comes from people falling asleep on their way home, and then waking them up is a bit difficult at times. Often it takes them some time to recognize where they are, after waking up.

Sometimes people are so drunk that they just say "take me home" and I somehow get them to say the name of the general neighbourhood after convincing. Some cases are so stubborn that I have to throw them out, they just don't understand that "take me home" isn't a valid address and I really don't know where a random Joe lives.

It's still a nice change from sitting all week at the computer.

That taxi driver job is something I could never do, I have slight issue with drunk people, I can't really stand them at all so my career would end quite quickly as I would throw any drunk person out, without stopping first
